5 easy steps to build your online reputation [infographic]
When it comes to lists, I like the number 5 and the word “easy” – don’t you?
Any more than 5 steps and I break out in a cold sweat; and who doesn’t like their steps to be easy?
So, with that in mind, the following infographic is a great primer for anyone a little nervous about the prospect of managing or improving their online reputation.
Just five easy steps, which include:
1. Assess your current online reputation
In particular, take a look at what shows up when you Google your name. If you need help, here’s a simple list of reputation keywords to check.
2. Identify changes needed
This is pretty straightforward. Look through the search results and identify those that can help your online reputation and those that could harm it.
3. Determine your best arenas
I like to call this, finding your reputation “centers of influence.”
4. Create a reputation strategy
This is where you figure out what content you should generate, and where to publish it, in order to improve your online reputation.
5. Start building
This should be self-explanatory. What do you do after this step? Simple, go back to #1 and repeat the process. 😉
